What to see in Taipei

Taiwan (traditional Chinese:臺灣; simplified Chinese:台湾; pinyin: Táiwān), officially named the Republic of China (ROC), is a state in East Asia. Taiwan's main island, also known as Formosa, is located between the East China Sea and the South China Sea, in the northwest of the Pacific Ocean, with the People's Republic of China to the northwest, Japan to the northeast and the Philippines to the south. The territory has an area of 35,808 square kilometres and is characterised by mountain ranges that dominate the eastern two thirds, while the plains of the western third concentrate most of the population, heavily urbanised. The territories under the control of the Republic of China include, in total, 168 islands, with a cumulative area of 36,193 square kilometres. The largest metropolitan agglomeration is formed by Taipei (the capital), New Taipei and Keelung. With approximately 23.9 million inhabitants, Taiwan is among the most densely populated states in the world. Text: Wikipedia (ro) — Taiwan
